Wei Wei is a popular Chinese music icon and has spanned a career of more than 20 years. She has often been dubbed by the media as “China’s Whitney Houston,” “China’s Madonna,” and “China’s Celine Dion” among other names. Her music, according to estimates, have been distributed to more than 200 million cassettes and CDs in China, which makes her one of the most selling artists in the world.
Wei Wei has been an Olympic Ambassador since 1993 and is currently supporting the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics through her performances at major Olympic events in China and abroad.
